The construction of Roads and Bridges is the largest part of PW's business in Africa. PW Nigeria has been continuously involved in road construction of national and regional importance in Nigeria since the mid 1970s. It currently has over 400 km of roads under construction, the largest being half of the 140 km expressway from Ibadan to Ilorin. PW Ghana is scheduled to complete 113 km of roads in Ghana by May 2005.
All the components of road construction are carried out in – house from earthmoving to concrete manufacture to asphalt production and laying.
The company owns and operates six quarry aggregate, concrete and asphalt production facilities in various locations in Nigeria to service its contracts and this ensures quality and availability of materials. PW Ghana will have its first quarry and asphalt plant in production by the end of 2003.
