 P.W. Limited was a part of a Joint Venture consortium that included Skanska Africa Limited and Intertec A/S from Denmark. Project scope of work included terminal building refurbishment and expansion, construction of two new aprons, installation of new radar and navigation systems, 550m extension to operational runway, new substation and generator house with equipment, surface car parking and approach roads, repairs to existing aprons, new electrical systems to control tower.

Details:

 Correction of freespans to 24inch fuel oil pipeline and 36inch seawater intake pipeline. Correction using grout filled fabric formwork. Additional pipeline stabilisation installed using 8 tonne concrete anchor blocks placed alongside pipelines. Installation of split sleeve repair clamps to areas of pipeline affected by corrosion. All operations carried out using our own dynamically positioned crane barge St. Patrick, and works executed on fully operational pipelines.

Details:

 Road Rehabilitations totaling 185km in length. Scarify and repair failed sections of existing roads and replace laterite base course. Two coats of surface dressing on a repaired and existing base to Ministry specification. Road was constructed on a new alignment to replace existing road. Drainage structures reconstruction and extensions. All material produced directly in a PW Nigeria quarry established for this project. All works executed directly, no subcontracts.

Details:

 4.5km Urban Road Dualization between Domestic and Internal Airports in Lagos on a heavily congested traffic route. Scope included clear site, earthworks, laterite fill, crushed stone sub-base and base course. Three layer asphaltic concrete surfacing. Construction of all necessary side drains, U channels, pipe and box culverts. Installation of road furniture and marking. Kerbing and footpath construction. Road was constructed on existing alignment with additional carriageway alongside existing road. All material was produced directly in a PW Nigeria quarry established for this project.

Details:

 Works involved design and construction of 90km of existing earth road to an overall width of 11.6m consisting of two coats of surface dressed carriageway 7.6m wide, and 2.0m single coat surfaced hard shoulder on either side. Over 600,000 cubic metres of earthworks was required to improve horizontal and vertical alignments, utilizing cut to fill, cut to spoil, and borrow to fill material processes. Considerable drainage works were undertaken in the form of new single and multiple cell pipe and box culverts from RC and precast construction methods. In a number of cases existing structures were extended where suitable. 13km of concrete U drains and 11km of concrete kerbs were constructed, with 17,000 square metres of stone pitching. Road furniture was installed, such as markings, signage and kilometer posts.
